Hello, friends! I have a new AWESOME project for you, today we are making some DIY Packing Tape Clear French Labels! If you haven’t tried this method before, let me just tell you that you are in for a real treat! Chances are you already have the materials needed on hand, so this is even more exciting …because you can start making your own clear labels right this second! :)
The idea of this project is real simple, but also almost revolutionary! Maybe you’ll think that’s a big word, but this will practically open a new world when it comes to decorating different objects in your home and adding a little bit of French charm with minimal costs.
So what’s that great about this DIY Packing Tape Clear French Labels project?
It’s pretty simple! We are basically taking regular paper French labels printed with a laser printer and are turning them into clear labels (or stickers, or decals) using packing tape!!!
And yes, you can be skeptical at this and think … no way this will ever work! I felt the same when I first tried this method, but I was so impressed with the final results! I just couldn’t believed I kind of made my own DIY Packing Tape Clear French Labels … from scratch! :)
I’ve been using waterslide decal paper for years now (learn All about waterslide decal paper here) and I would say that this packing tape method can be a great substitute for decals, especially for DIY home made projects! Especially for those of you that can’t find good quality decals where you live (or can’t find them at all) – I know that’s such a big problem for so many of you. The principles are mostly the same, but keep in mind that you won’t get ‘perfect’ results every time when using the packing tape method (like you would when using decals)! It’s also a little bit time consuming, but crafting can be quite therapeutic and relaxing! Some small imperfections might appear when making the clear labels, but let’s just embrace and consider them unique characteristics that only make the DIY Packing Tape Clear French Labels beautiful handmade items … created by you!
The only challenge with this project would be finding the packing tape that would actually work. Try looking for tapes that ‘promise’ strong adherence and are super clear … and just give them a try! Experiment until you get the best results! Not perfect (remember?), but ones that work best for you!
Of course you can use any other of your favorite images or graphics (both black & white and colored) when creating some clear tape labels, there are literally endless possibilities to experiment and get creative with!
And speaking of experimenting, have you tried my Epsom Salt and Lavender bath soak recipe yet? The jar looks just amazing with one of these clear French label, don’t you think? :)
You’ll find the super detailed step by step tutorial over at The Graphics Fairy, I’m sharing the whole process there. With tons of picture so you can visually take part in the process (and then try it!!), tips and tricks, things to consider when making these and ideas on how to use them on several different surfaces!
And again, I’ve created a French free printable so you won’t waste precious time looking for and deciding what to use, or resizing and arranging and testing and all these ‘not fun’ things. I already did that for you to help you get into the creating mood … more quickly :) Just download the labels and have fun creating your own DIY Packing Tape Clear French Labels! Be careful though, these might give a slight addiction! :)
