Listen to your heart and follow your dreams!
Hello, I’m Diana, welcome to Dreams Factory! :)
I’m in love with DIY projects and I’m passionate about all things French and Shabby Chic, white home decor, good music & romantic movies, Pinterest, photography, graphic design, fonts, healthy food and natural living. I also love multi-tasking, so expect to see some of these reflected in my life and work! :)
This beautiful journey called Dreams Factory started in the summer of 2012 when I decided that working in a big company was not my thing anymore. Even though I earned a lot of money at that time, I felt that something was missing and I needed to find THAT THING that would also feed my soul, not only fill my pocket.
I didn’t know what that thing was until I saw a DIY tutorial on how to transform a regular wooden box into a Shabby Chic beauty using acrylic paint and decoupage and thought: ”Wow, that’s just amazing, I have to try that!”
And so I did.
I bought some paint, some brushes and started to paint following the steps from the tutorial. I was suddenly overwhelmed with pure joy. I think that was the time when I somehow knew… THAT was the thing I wanted to do.
I decided to quit my job and embrace my new passion.
Don’t imagine that everything was peachy at first, because I literally turned my life upside down, with no ”artistic” background whatsoever. I have a degree in PR & Communication and I was a HR Manager at my last job, so there is no artistry there as you can see.
But thank God for determination! :) And for Pinterest. And for The Graphics Fairy who was such an inspiration in my search of a French chic style! And for people who share their knowledge through their blogs! I went through a long process (and still am) of discovering new things and all kind of techniques, documenting myself, working like crazy, learning from mistakes and starting all over again until (fully) satisfied.
First I made stuff for me, my friends and my family, I searched for the best available materials and ways to create beautiful handmade decorations, I pioneered in using in my country the waterslide decal paper transfers and many more. I found a style that I can call ”my own” and somewhere on the way I decided to start my own business.
I opened an online shop {www.dreamsfactory.ro} and my shop has now, after almost 3 years, over 400 decorations! Lovely handmade things with Vintage, French & Shabby Chic touches with ”my signature” on them! It means the world to me! :)
It was a lot of work, but I loved it every step of the way! ♥
The truth is I could not have done any of these without the constant support and help of Mr. Dreamy (my soulmate-dreamy-half) and my amazing mother, the two persons that always encouraged me to discover my potential and stood by me every step of the way, surrounding me with love and understanding. We are all partners now in our business, like the three crafter musketeers! :)
Ok, maybe four, if you include my sweet little dog Puf (as in Poof), that follows me around everywhere I go :) Isn’t he the sweetest thing ever? :)
I’ve learned a lot and I feel that both me and my family, my blog and our business have somehow evolved together beautifully.
I created this blog when I knew nothing about blogging and was more of a presentation blog for my handmade decorations. And for lots of DIY projects that I hope you will find inspiring.
Along the way me and my family transitioned to a more healthier and happier life. I discovered a lot of things that you can easily do to considerably improve and beautify your life – like finding ways to decompress, eating healthy and green-ish, using homemade products for cleaning, using natural beauty products and many more.
So now I want to share my lovely finds and this beautiful journey with you! If you are a regular friend to my blog, thank you for beeing here and supporting my blog! And if you are new here, I hope you’ll stick around to discover more! :)

Hi Merav, thanks for stopping by, I’m happy you like my project!
This fabric is called cotton duck or canvas fabric in my country (I live in Romania) and comes in several different thicknesses.
I have found something similar on Amazon – here is the link https://amzn.to/3aoweTR – but cannot really say if it’s the exact same one.
Hope that helps! :)
