These Christmas rosemary wreaths are a simple but beautiful way of decking the halls for the holidays, with endless possibilities of incorporating them into your home decor, table settings or gift wrapping sessions
This year Christmas will most likely find me unprepared and I will only find the time to make some small last minute seasonal decorations. But I don’t mind, Christmas is all about love and family, spending some relaxing moments with dear ones, while cuddling on the couch and sipping hot drinks. A little bit of snow might help to get into the holiday spirit, but if not, we will still have our favorite Christmas playlist to jingle all the way:)
I’ve been wanting to make Christmas rosemary wreaths for ages and now seemed like the perfect time to make some. Why? Simply because Christmas is just around the corner they are super easy to make, they are quick, they are affordable and they can be used in so many different ways. Depending on how large you decide to make them, you can use them to decorate your Christmas tree, your Christmas table, your Christmas presents or … your any other Christmas related things :)
How to make Christmas rosemary wreaths + free ribbon banners
You will need: rosemary sprigs, green florist wire (or regular sewing thread), red & white ribbon (grain sack inspired), paper scissors, a hot glue gun and some white cardstock (use manila cardstock if going for a vintage look) to make the lovely ribbon banners.
As I mentioned before, you can choose to make some mini wreaths or some larger ones, depending on how long your rosemary sprigs are.
The procedure is pretty simple, you just bend one large sprig into an imaginary circle and use floral wire (or sewing thread) to secure the ends together by overlapping them. The circle is imaginary indeed, because you will sometime end up with odd shapes that don’t really look … rounded :)
If you use smaller sprigs, you will have to combine several pieces together, secure them gradually with floral wire, and just add as many as you wish, until you reach the width you want. And please be careful when handling and shaping the rosemary sprigs, some will break quite easily.
I used 2 sprigs to make and shape each of my Christmas rosemary wreaths. They are not perfect, but I think their imperfect looking shape only adds character to the whole concept.
And to make things easier for you, I made some ribbon banners with my favorite wishes and sayings for Christmas, that you can just download, print, cut and use on your Christmas rosemary wreaths. I choose a simple design and I didn’t make the specific ribbon edges, so that you can easily adjust and adapt them according to your needs… and your Christmas rosemary wreaths size :) And I also created 3 larger ones, just in case you decide to make a few bigger versions…for bigger gifts, maybe?:)
P.S. The ribbon banners can also be used as labels or tags

This is my first Christmas gift for you! :)
To make a ribbon banner simply cut one rectangle (removing the grey borders completely), give it the ribbon shape at both ends and fold it & unfold it at the ends to emphasize its ribbon-like shape.
After cutting all the ribbon banners you need, use your hot glue gun to attach them on the lower part of the wreaths. Try to arrange them so they would cover the florist wire as much as possible.
Then hot glue the grain sack ribbon on the upper part … and you’re done! :)
Use them all around your home for Christmas, hang them by your window or your Christmas tree, integrate them into beautiful table settings as place cards, napkin rings or small presents embellishments, seasonal vignettes, etc.
Make more so you can decorate Christmas gifts for all your family, friends and neighbors! :)
I think they look so simple and natural, but so chic when in contrast with the brown paper used for gift wrapping, don’t you think? I just LOVE them! ♥
