A vintage Valentine postcard and the essential from ''The Little Prince''

If you are looking for some last minute ideas for Valentine's Day, I've got you covered! :)

Remember last time I shared 32 Handmade Valentine's Day Ideas, a guide in which I included my favorite DIY projects, recipes and some beautiful free printables? Today I have another free printable for you, a super cute vintage Valentine postcard ... and a little story.
This postcard is not exactly new, I made it some time ago starting from the Cupid with heart image from The Graphics Fairy, you might have seen it on my blog previously. The truth is after closing my graphics shop from Etsy and deciding to make my graphics available for free download, I kind of forgot about this one.

But after I watched The Little Prince (the movie), it all came back to me :) And in case you are wondering what is the connection with The Little Prince (Le Petite Prince, a book by Antoine de Saint Exupéry), my super cute vintage Valentine postcard includes a quote from the book. But not any quote, THE QUOTE. My all time favorite quote:

''Here is my secret. It is very simple. It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eyes.'' - Antoine de Saint Exupéry

I think this simple quote pretty much sums everything in life, wouldn't you say? :)

And yes, I love the book, but I also loved the movie. I was impressed by how they managed to tell the story and make it appealing for children but also for grown ups. An amazing animated story about life that captured so many emotions and feelings. It has a dose of sadness (and I might have shed a tear or two), but it also overwhelms you with pure joy and love when you least expect it. Just like life does!

I'm sure everyone will have a different experience when watching this movie, but the overall idea is that it makes you think about all those little things that you love and enjoy when you are a child and that you tend to forget and even lose when you ''grow up''. Instead of using our imagination to create beautiful things, enjoy the things that are REAL in life and explore the colors around us, we have a way of limiting ourselves to experience grey (and sometimes sad) places. You'll understand more if you watch the movie (wink).

You can save the free image on your computer, print it, cut the little postcards using scissors and attach them as tag on flower bouquets, meaningful presents or anything that you can think of, for Valentine's day or other special occasion. I printed the tags on textured card-stock but you can also use regular card-stock or paper.

And don't forget ''It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential in invisible to the eyes.''
