Vintage Junk Journal Clusters - add a touch of whimsy to your junk journals using these vintage paper clusters. Learn how to perfectly layer elements to add dimension and chicness to your junk journals, but use the same idea on other projects too!
Hello, creative friends! It's been a while since seeing you here, so I hope everything goes well in your part of the world! Today I'm back with a beautiful DIY project as I'm sharing these gorgeous Vintage Junk Journal Clusters with a super chic dimensional feel.
You won't believe how easy it is to put all these beautifully layered elements together once you cut them.
And the final results will simply sweep you off your feet!

cardstock | printer | scissors | mini distress inks | blending tool with foams | Decocolor gold marker (my all-time favorite gold marker) or Kuretake Gansai Tambi gold watercolors (also my all-time favorites) |
glue stick or craft glue | Glossy Accents medium | silicon mat (for protecting your working space)

I used vintage images to create the design for these beauties and some of my favorite pink and blue rhododendron images as our focal points.
I feel these are some of those paper embellishments that are always great to have around! They will instantly add a touch of whimsy to your junk journals, but of course, they can be used on other projects too!

To create the design, I used all sorts of vintage images from The Graphics Fairy, one more beautiful than the other. I also included a few French ephemera cutouts that can be used to finish things up and bring even more charm to the whole assembly.
P.S. Speaking of creating the design, did you know that I'm sharing useful Photoshop Elements tutorials on The Graphics Fairy Premium Membership site? I can't believe I haven't had the chance to tell you about this until now, but I'm actually quite excited to be part of the team and share all sorts of creative designs. I'm using Photoshop Elements to make the digital tutorials, but they can be used on the regular Adobe Photoshop, too.

There are a few things to consider when creating these amazing vintage junk journal paper clusters with a vintage vibe. I'll show you:
- what to choose in terms of paper when printing the free printables that I created for this project
- what to keep in mind when cutting all the elements
- how to distress the paper
- how to embellish the rectangular frame with dimensional glue and gold dots
- how to assemble everything in the right order (my vision, you can try other layering styles)
- what else can you use to bring more dimension to your finished pieces

There are a few other dimensional details that I had in mind while actually creating the design: using different shapes in different sizes, designing the botanical leaves outside the script paper element, enhancing the focal point flower using a round shape underneath. And lastly, choosing a flower image that already has a mesmerizing dimensional feel and so much depth to it! If you look closely, you will see how stunning this image actually is and how it perfectly complements this dimensional project idea I wanted to share with you today.

Of course, these are just a few guidelines and ideas to get you started, you can get creative and mix things as you want! I'll show you how I envisioned these vintage junk journal clusters in the first place, but I encourage you to adapt things to your own liking if you feel like it.
