Hello, friends!
It’s always amazing to see your work appreciated so you can imagine my excitement when Artful Blogging magazine asked me if I would like to write an article for them! I was more than thrilled and I almost instantly said ‘YES’!
But then I had quite a few other emotions …
I panicked at first because they wanted me to write about my blogging experience and this was somehow different from the articles I normally write on this blog. I’m usually going with my (mostly DIY) posts on a more ‘technical’ side of things so that you, my readers, have all the information needed to easily re-create my projects.
So I knew I would have to step out of my comfort zone for this. That’s not the most pleasant thing to do, but we sometimes just have to do it if we want to conquer our fears and evolve … maybe even become better versions of ourselves.
I poured myself a latte and started ‘drafting’ my article. It’s strange to write about you, because you can’t always find the best words to describe your experiences. The first sentences are usually the hardest. But then I started to relax because I realized once again I REALLY LOVE WHAT I DO, so writing about it shouldn’t be that hard.
And it wasn’t!
Reconnecting the dots
This was the title for my article and I talked about how I felt overwhelmed and discontented with my life at one point so I needed to learn to disconnect.
How I discovered my passion for everything handmade & DIY and how I tried reconnecting the dots and going into the direction of the person I WANTED TO BE. And how this completely changed my life.
You can still find Artful Blogging Spring 2018 on stands (until the end of April) and online here – I’m really hoping my story would be an inspiration for others to try and find their true self by DOING WHAT THEY LOVE THE MOST!
I have to say that working with Artful Blogging magazine has been a beautiful experience, they are true professionals but also so real and down to earth people. Love this type of people! As you can see, they even sent me the actual printed magazine (from US to Europe)! It felt surreal receiving and holding an actual paper magazine in this (almost too) digital era.
My heart might have skipped a bit or two while looking for my article and some of my featured photos! :) But the feeling was sooo amazing once I discovered them! :)
I also loved discovering other bloggers’ journeys by reading their stories. Their real struggles, their ups and downs, their learning curves, their battles and successes – the whole package that led to their ‘reconnecting the dots’.
The magazine is truly inspiring and quite therapeutic. And all the photos are just stunning!
Today can be a great day for starting doing what you love – reconnecting the dots relies entirely on you! (no pressure there) :)
Find the things that make YOU happy and choose that path for YOURSELF, it’s the journey that counts the most!
Don’t forget to reconnect,
Diana
