Today we are talking chocolate! :) And not any kind of chocolate, but extremely delicious homemade vegan white chocolate, with healthy and natural ingredients. Beautified with French labels and served in small perfect portions with fresh fruits, best when enjoyed with your loved ones! :)
Do you want to hear the best part? This healthy homemade vegan white chocolate requires only 4 ingredients and about 10 minutes to make from scratch!
I’m not a fan of store bough white chocolate, as I find it too sweet for my tastes. Let’s just say I’m more into the dark side of chocolate, if you know what I mean …
But this healthier version of a homemade white chocolate is totally different from anything I’ve tasted before. And I mean really different. It’s rich and dense, with a strongly infused flavor from all that amazing cacao butter, a subtle hint of coconut, vanilla and a touch of caramel (from the coconut sugar, which looks like brown sugar and tastes like caramel). As I was saying, it is best served in small portions and with moderation … but that only means you get to enjoy it for a longer period of time, so it’s really a win-win situation anyway you put it! :)
HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE VEGAN WHITE CHOCOLATE
You can use silicone molds* to give your chocolate different shapes, but if you are going for a simple round look, like I did, you can improvise and use disposable plastic cups* or a cupcake silicone tray*.
- 3/4 cup melted raw cacao butter
- 1/2 cup coconut flour
- 1/2 cup coconut sugar (sub with honey, stevia, agave or maple syrup) - adjust to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla powder
- Finely chop or grate the cacao butter and stirring continuously melt it using a double boiler.
- When completely melted remove from the double boiler and add the coconut flour by gradually sifting it into the cacao butter and whisk until combined.
- Add the coconut sugar and vanilla powder and whisk until the coconut sugar is completely melted.
- Pour the creamy soft mixture into molds and place it in the fridge to harden for a few hours. It is best to chill overnight so it can be easily popped from the molds. The waiting part is always the hardest part, so be patient! :)
- You could prepare the French labels in the meantime ... just saying :)
HOW TO MAKE FRENCH LABELS FOR HOMEMADE VEGAN WHITE CHOCOLATE
I started from my Cacao, Cafes & Chocolat French Ephemera with Vintage Frame labels I made a while ago (with beautiful graphics from The Graphics Fairy) and made another two versions using Photoshop – in light vintage purple and magenta.
Just download, print the vintage French labels on regular paper or card stock and using your scissors trim them close to their beautiful vintage borders, giving them a wavy rounded shape.
To download: [Right click + save picture as]. Please use for personal use only. Thanks.
When the chocolate is done, you can use white tissue paper or parchment paper to individually wrap each piece. Attach the French labels and … you’re done! :)
Don’t worry if you can’t perfectly wrap them (because of their round shapes) the little imperfections will only add character to the whole homemade and handmade concept :)
This homemade vegan white chocolate would be such a great gift for Valentine’s day but also for any season, occasion or anniversary. Or just for a regular day when you want to make a surprise, who says we need a special day to give chocolate to the people we love, right? :)
TIPS:
♥ Make sure you use raw cacao butter suitable for cooking, I’ve learned that there are some options only suitable for external use only (like making body products, etc.).
♥ The final color of the chocolate may vary – depending on the cacao butter and sweetener you are using, you can get a whiter or yellowish final color. Because I used coconut sugar (which looks like brown sugar), mine turned out a little yellowish. But the taste was amazing, so I didn’t mind :)

TRICKS:
Ok, so you love the overall French aspect of my good looking homemade vegan white chocolate but don’t feel like making your own from scratch? Or maybe you can not find one or some of the ingredients? Don’t despair! :) You can always melt white chocolate chips (non dairy if vegan), dark chocolate chips or simple dark chocolate bars (at least 55% cocoa for a healthier version) with a little bit of coconut oil in a double boiler and just pour into molds and refrigerate. Then Frenchify as mentioned before and you are good to go! :)
