Hello creative friends! I’m back with another super chic DIY project for you, today I will show you how to make this gorgeous DIY Gold Foil Pop-Up Butterfly Card! 
The whole process might look like a lot of work or even it might sound complicated, but once you understand how to make the pop-up mechanism, you are good to go!
I used gold watercolors and gold foil to decorate the butterfly and the card itself, I feel like there isn’t anything right now that can actually top that! Or at least for me!
And I’m not even sure if it’s just a gold foil phase that I’m going through or more of a serious, more permanent affair, but I really love the final results I usually get without having to put too much effort in.
DIY Gold Foil Pop-Up Butterfly Card
I’m sharing the free printable for this project, you will be able to recreate both the interior and the exterior of the card. I had a Pop-Up Birthday Card in mind while designing it, but of course, you can mix things up and change the sentiment to match other occasions too!
I also added some flying wings on the cover of the card, just to give it a little bit of a tridimensional feel and make it even more intriguing.
cardstock paper | laserjet printer |scissors | bone folder | mini distress inks | blending tool with foams
gold foil | gold foil glue OR UHU glue stick OR Mod Podge
gold watercolors or highly diluted gold acrylic paint or gold gouaches | small brush
The best part about this project is the magical pop-up mechanism because when you close the card you can’t really imagine what’s going on inside.
But when you open it, the oversized butterfly looks like it’s about to spread its wings and fly! Maybe it’s dreaming of a garden filled with heavenly-scented flowers and it’s getting ready to get there in a heartbeat! :)
