The coloring pages fever (eventually) got to me and today I'm sharing my favorite 100 free coloring pages for adults and children.
I first wanted to make this a 10 or 15 adult coloring pages round-up but I have to be honest ... when I tried to decide and choose only a few printables ... I just couldn't. There are so many beautiful coloring pages out there I just had to share them with you all! So my top got bigger and bigger and I only stopped at 100 free coloring pages for all your family! :)
And no, I'm not ashamed to admit that I (am 30 something years old and I) love to color! I use brushes and acrylic paint on a daily basis to create handmade decorations, I sometimes use watercolors (but that's another beautiful story) and now ... colored pencils! And for me, this amazingly relaxing coloring pages thing has been one of my ways of handling stress lately, clearing my head and even charging my batteries.
I initially saw all the craziness adult coloring pages created all around the world and I remember reading an article about the millions of coloring books sold last years. But I didn't really pay too much attention to any of those. And I thought I had enough painting and too many things going on in my life at that point to add yet another thing on my to do list. And I wasn't somehow even seeing all the amazing free coloring pages out there... because I was not interested. Does this happen to you sometimes? To not see some things until you somehow set your mind to see them?
But when I discovered this beautiful project from Cupcakes and Crinoline where Mary Beth colored and ingeniously transferred a coloring page on a tote bag, something clicked ;) And I knew I wanted to try some coloring on my own, because the idea of incorporating your own little pieces of art into your crafts did seem extremely appealing to me! :)
So I bought some colored pencils and gradually discovered some amazing coloring pages artists that shared their beautiful, incredibly detailed and intricate free coloring pages online.
I love that there are so many options to choose from, whether it is a complicated coloring page that it will take you a few days to finish or a more simpler design that it will take you only a few hours. But the best part is that you are in control and you get to create your very own piece of beautiful art. There is nothing more freeing that clearing your head and just go with the choosing-what-colored-pencil-to-use-next flow :) You get to play with colors and shades, with strong accents (Sharpie Markers) or muted pastels (I prefer the pastels - colored pencils, watercolor pencils) and ... you get to follow no rule. Try using your favorite colors and let your imagination do the rest! :)
Later edit!
Here are a few of my latest favorite supplies when it comes to coloring.
I really love the quote from Ursula K. Le Guin who said that ''The creative adult is the child who survived'' ... and I'm so happy to see that more and more grown up people are feeling the need of returning to basis and learning to enjoy a beautiful small thing like a coloring book.
You will find in my 100 free coloring pages round-up some incredible mandalas, abstract art, doodles, paisley, animals, flowers, inspirational prints and many more to choose from. Like the dream catcher from the image above that I absolutely love! And the most adorable owl in the universe, from Hattifant (my all time favorite artist when it comes to coloring pages).
Just click on the links below to get to the download sites, print your coloring pages on regular paper or cardstock paper and have fun with all your family! :) And after you finish coloring one or two of these cuties, put them at safe keeping, because I'll show you soon a fun and easy way on how to incorporate them into your home decor and enjoy them for a long time!
