The green part was kind of scary for me and I was pretty sure that ALL green smoothies would taste just awful!! But last year, me and Mr. Dreamy decided to start making small steps to a healthier life and made a few changes in our lives. One major change was the fact that we decided to give up on eating any kind of meat. We did that gradually but was THE best decision ever! We started to see food in a totally different light and were surprised to (re)discover all kind of healthy yummy foods.
All this green eating kind of opened a door in wanting to try green smoothies too. But I had no idea where to start.
''What green smoothie should I choose as my very first green smoothie?''
That was the question! :)

Tips & tricks for making the perfect green smoothie for beginners
Don't stress about keeping all the exact proportions, the best part is that you can play with the ingredients and create your very own perfect green smoothie that would perfectly match your tastes. You can use a whole banana, if you like your green smoothie to be more sweat, but if you like it more acid, you can just add half of lemon.

The chia seeds are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and they are hydrophilic, which means they will absorb some of the liquid when soaked. I first found about chia seeds from my friend Edith, from Edith's Kitchen, she has a lots of recipes using these super seeds. I now regularly use them on my smoothies but also on other meals. You can find more about chia seeds if you Google them, I'm sure you'll love them too.

If you choose to freeze your fruits and green leaves before using them for smoothies, make sure you use a powerful blender. If you don't have a powerful blender, cut your ingredients into small chunks and let them sit for a few minutes before blending them.
I found online that that Vitamix and Blendtec are the best there are on the market right now when it comes to making smoothies, ice cream, raw cakes, milk from all kind of nuts and many others.
I have my eyes on this beauty from Amazon, a creamy white Vitamix with a kind of a vintage-ish look that would be a perfect match for my creamy white kitchen! Definitely on my wishlist! :)
