DIY painted and distressed French bottles with amazing oval labels – a project that you can make with recycled bottles and a little bit of paint so you can beautifully decorate your home every time of year
I had this project in mind for quite some time now and truth be told, I even started it … a couple of years ago. Yes, I completed the first part of the project – the painting and distressing part – a few years ago and I just used the simple bottles in our home for decorating.
But I knew I had to Frenchify them a little bit, someday because … everything looks better with a little bit of French touch here and there, don’t you think? :)
So I created simple but beautiful labels using some of my favorite French graphics from The Graphics Fairy and an elegant oval frame. They were all a match made in Heaven! I absolutely loved how they all complemented each other.
Can you believe these now chic and elegant French bottles were someday beer bottles? Yes, I used old beer bottles for this project! I love recycling old stuff and giving them a new look and I’m always excited to find new ways of decorating them and giving them a new purpose. And a new life!
And speaking of bottles, you will need to find some dark glass bottles, because I’ll show you a cool way of distressing them using … their dark side :)
The project is structured in two large categories:
1. painting and distressing
2. applying the French oval labels
I’m sharing all the steps on The Graphics Fairy, as part of our collaboration ♥

I like the end result of the project. The labels really give a French sophistication.
