Today I'm sharing with you a little bit of my love for fonts and an amazing roundup that includes some of my favorites 45 Whimsical Script Fonts.
You'll find in this collection some beautifully handcrafted fonts with glyphs, ligatures, swashes or other ornaments, some with modern touches, others with more elegant classy shapes, but equally created with passion by some incredibly talented people. You will also find ideas on how to use them on their full potential by unlocking all their hidden features.

Can you imagine that every single letter of these amazing fonts was initially written or drawn by hand?
I'm always amazed to discover people who follow their passion and manage to express their creativity through their work. These people are leaving something beautiful behind when art becomes a manifestation of their inner self. Some of my favorites creators of simply stunning fonts are Sam Parrett (Set Sail Studios), Emily Spadoni, Angie Makes, Nicky Laatz, Joel Maker and Ian Mickraz to name only a few.
I recently found that some of these artists use traditional ways of creating their fonts but other use a Wacom tablet, a special graphic tablet with a pressure sensitive pen that allows you to create your own digital art directly on your computer. In Japanese 'Wa' stands for 'harmony' and 'Komu' for 'computer'. Now I'm thinking ... who doesn't need some harmony in his/her life, maybe I gotta get me one of these. Someday! :)
But until I'll do just that, I love finding and using unique fonts for my handmade decorations, but also for creating my own printables. And when it comes to organizing and labeling everything around my home, a lovely font can make all the difference!
I'm all into using free fonts for personal projects but I sometime find them limited in terms of what they have to offer, so the fonts I'm sharing today are not free! But I like to think of them as good investments for the future, because you invest in you and in your creativity! And if you plan on using them to create saleable items afterwards, your investment will be so much more worth it.
You will love every single one of these 45 Whimsical Script Fonts, I'm sure! :)
They can be used on everything that you can think of. You can brand your business by designing your own logo and other brand identity elements, create an original header for your blog, make fanciful wedding invitations, printables, labels, tags, exquisite wall art for your home, decorative wood sign with your favorite lettering and many more.
You can even make your own stationery for Valentine's Day or even write a whimsical love letter! After choosing the perfect font, installing it on your computer and writing the letter, try printing it on some lightly distressed paper (use coffee or tea for distressing) and you'll have the most amazing gift for someone you love.
You don't need special skills, just try to be creative and see where your creativity takes you. You will need Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator to create your own digital art using some of these fonts, but you can also use a regular word editing program (for small projects) if you are not familiar with the two mentioned before. The hardest part will be choosing from so many beautiful fonts, trust me! :)
The only thing I would strongly recommend is using the glyphs, ligatures, swashes or other ornaments that come with many of these artistically handwritten fonts. In typography it's all about these specially designed elements or variations of a letter that will add that whimsy touch to your art work!
You will find many of these special characters and features incorporated in some of the fonts, but for others you will need a special program that would allow you to unleash their power. Photoshop has an Open Type panel and Illustrator has a Glyphs panel, but you can also find some other simpler ways of incorporating them into your work. I found this & this tutorial from Angie Makes really helpful when it comes to glyphs, make sure you check them so you can benefit from all the hidden treasures these fonts have to offer.
