Learn a cool trick on how to make Vintage 3D Labels with Bee and Butterfly Images! The bee and the butterfly will look like they are ready to fly away and will bring depth and dimension to your home decor!
In my last post I showed you how to easily recycle some old tin cans and turn them into beautiful and chic decorative pieces for your home. Flowers, herbs, brushes or kitchen utensils, all will have now some amazing recipients to live in.
Today I have a confession to make …
I (might have) deliberately left out some valuable information! :)
Why, you ask? Because I wanted to show you a cool trick on how to make some Vintage 3D Labels with Bee and Butterfly images!
The idea came to me while I was cutting the French labels with vintage frames that I created for the tin cans. Remember how I told you to cut the labels as close as you can to their edges? I did that too with these two beautiful images with vintage wreaths (and a bee and a butterfly) … and I just loved how their wings almost spread and … were ready to fly! :)

So I thought it would be a great idea to somehow integrate this whole 3D concept on the cans, too. And I did!
I first added Mod Podge to the whole surface of the wreaths and completely glued them to the cans.
But when it came to gluing the bee and the butterfly, I only added Mod Podge in the middle of the images – on their back, following a vertical imaginary line.
So I basically left their wings unglued … so it would look like they just landed on my tin cans or are preparing to fly away, maybe looking for a little bit of sunshine :)
I really loved how delicate my Vintage 3D Labels with Bee and Butterfly images looked on the cans!
The labels are indeed delicate and the little 3D wings should be handled with care…but I guess you already have to do that with a handmade item made by you, right?
See how the Vintage 3D Labels with Bee and Butterfly images just pop comparing with the other flat French label?
Lilacs almost completed the whole scene, making everything (more) realistic :)
I’m obsessed with lilacs these days … if you can’t really tell from my pictures :)
I discovered a small lilac tree in the back of our yard. We’ve been only living here for a few months, so I had no idea we had a lilac!!!
So exciting discovering and enjoying these small things that bring you so much joy!
I hope you like my trick for making these easy but super chic Vintage 3D Labels with Bee and Butterfly images!
