Hello, dreamy friends, hope you all had a great weekend! :)
In my last post I gave you a few ideas on how you can easily create a neutral French decor for fall using a basic set of French decorations. Some French email jugs or French pitchers, French Made painted jars, painted and distressed Shabby books or some waterproof French labels are only a few pieces that will give you a great starting point in decorating your home.
The best thing about having a set like this around your home is that you can make or beautify almost every item from the set yourself and you can adapt it to every season using specific items from that season. Can you imagine the endless possibilities?
Today I’m using my basic set of French decorations to create a neutral decor for fall to which I’m adding a splash of color.
Pumpkins are a must for fall, if you ask me, you can get really creative using different sizes and shapes. I painted mine white, to match the whole neutral decor. And yes, I added a splash of color by using apples!:) Nothing says fall better than some lovely apples. I also added some late bloomers, beautiful sunflowers I had in my garden. So simple, yet so effective, I instantly loved how they all looked together!
French crates are also very useful when creating a neutral decor for your home. You can use them only for decorating purposes but also to store small different things around your home, in a beautiful way.
I used painted books and an Ikea pitcher (see how I French hacked it here) filled with dried lavender and a beautiful sunflower.
Don’t forget to add a few drops of lavender essential oil to your dried lavender to give the whole French assembly a more realistic look and feel.
French jars can also be used to create depth, you can recycle and transform all kind of jars into French made beauties by simply painting them, adding some Shabby Chic touches and decorating them using waterslide decal paper (my favorite when it comes to transferring an image) – you can find here, here and here a few more ideas on how to paint jars and use them in your home.
The French ephemera tags that I used to decorate the French crates are now available for free download, you can find them here. You can use them in so many ways to transform and Frenchify ordinary objects around your home.
Don’t forget, all my graphics will be soon available for free download, so make sure you stick around for more! :)
Hope you like my ideas for creating and styling a neutral French decor for fall with a splash of color and decide to give it a try. Remember, you only need a basic set of French decorations (see the full list here) and you can put your imagination to work and adapt it to every season.
This one is for Pinterest, just in case you want to pin it for later! :) Would love to hear your thoughts, feel free to leave a comment below.
Have a great week, don’t forget to smile,
Diana
