Hi Donna, so sorry for the late reply, your message got caught into the spam folder for some reason.
I'm not using that printer anymore, but it was definitely a good one, I have used it for about ten years!
I switched to an inkjet printer - HP Envy 6000 series - and I love it! I cannot do all the things I could do with my old laserjet printer, but I've learned to adapt things according to my needs - for example, I'm using a lightweight matte photo paper to print my paper projects. This is a special paper that looks like cardstock and is not that expensive. It can be used immediately because it dries instantly. It's not perfect all the time, I still get somel occasional ink bleedings from time to time if I use too much watercolors or highly diluted paint, but it works!
I'm also using the HP Instant Ink subscription and so far, I'm happy with it!
If you have any questions, please let me know ♥

Hello Diana,
I have looked everywhere online for your printer. The only one I can find is located in India! According to HP, there's no such printer as the CP1025. Are you still using yours or have you moved on to a new one by now? (That post was kind of old!) I really appreciate your assistance.
Thank you, Donna B

thank you for this post. I was looking for a sun dried tomato and herb product that I had purchased in Canada. Loved it but cannot find anything like it here in US. SO, I will try to make our own. Got tomato plants producing now that looks like more than we can eat. Dried tomatoes do add such an intense flavor boost. Can't wait to try this.

Hi Dawn,
So happy you like this project and decide to give it a try, it's really such an amazing experiment!
If I can remember correctly, I think I soaked the fabric in the red cabbage dye first and then just soaked it in a small recipient with the turmeric dye.
The final color will definitely depend on how strong these two dyes are (and on so many other different factors), but it would be fun to experiment with different ratios to create that PERFECT chartreuse that you love! :)
Have fun!

Hey Sharon,
Not sure if you managed to make this work somehow, decals tend to look a little bit off on chalk paint sometimes.
What you can do is try to peel the decal off using some water, but this only works if you haven't added a final sealer!
Another thing that you can try is to create some sort of border around your decal to mask its edges - maybe some gold paint. You could also use a stencil and some texture paste, but it really depends on the final look you are envisioning for your decorated object.
One last thing that comes to my mind if you absolutely hate how the decal looks is to just paint over it and try to hide it. I'm guessing you will need to apply a few layers so you can completely cover the decal's edges, but it should work!
But again, it really depends on the object you decorated and your preferences!

So happy you tried this project, it's so much fun experimenting with all these colors, right?
Hibiscus was definitely my favorite too, but unfortunately, I was not able to keep that gorgeous pink after washing it.
Not sure what can be used as an alternative, but let's not lose hope, we just need to experiment some more! ;)
P.S. Now I'm thinking that beets might be next on my list for this!

Hi Diana. I just stumbled onto your amazing site.
I love these beautiful dyed fabrics and want to try them.
Could you please tell me what product you used to get the beautiful green/chartreuse color? It's tied in a bow in one of your photos. Although this post is years old, I would love to know. It's my favorite color.
Thanks so much!

Hey Diana,
i tried these yesterday step-by-step and here's what i got after completing everything:
- Turmeric was super bright, lovely banana yellow!
- Red cabbage was a very light pink.
- Hibiscus was a lovely, brighter pink.
After letting them dry and then testing out in the washing machine with clothes detergent (i need to test for colour-fastness) here's what i got:
- Turmeric is a gorgeous mustard yellow with blotches that look like a tye dye.
- Red cabbage one is a baby blue, so delicate and pretty!
- Hibiscus is GONE - it went back to an off-white.
I'm looking for a nice pink that will stay! Any other suggestions? :)
