Time to get your smoothie love to a whole new level and create your own smoothie bowl! Or make it a chocoholic smoothie bowl, because you’ve always wanted to find an excuse to have chocolate for breakfast, right? :) I know I did …
Smoothie bowls are popping in everywhere on Pinterest and Instagram lately, have you noticed? And for good reasons, people are getting really creative with their food and make simple ingredients look incredibly good and appetizing.
I feel that a chocoholic smoothie bowl (or any other smoothie bowl) should be treated as a blank canvas at first, because you get to play with different textures and colors and create visually appealing but also incredibly delicious pieces. And yes, you can DIY a smoothie bowl every morning and never get bored! :) Just use your imagination and paint your vision using different ingredients. Add contrasting colors to customize your smoothie as you wish and create more dramatic effects by using different shaped fruits, seeds, nuts, coconut flakes and your favorite superfoods. There are so many possibilities!
My chocoholic smoothie bowl has it all! It will give you a great boost of energy in the morning and will help you stay energized through out the day. And I’ll tell you a little secret about this good looking smoothie bowl … it is also extremely healthy, because it’s packed with spinach, avocado, bananas, coconut milk and cocoa powder!
And is topped with fresh strawberries, banana slices, pistachio, coconut flakes … and a little bit of dark chocolate, chopped into small perfect pieces, to make it even more chocolate-y! :)
- 1/2 avocado
- 2 frozen banana
- 1 cup baby spinach
- 1/2 cup coconut milk (sub for almond or regular milk)
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
- sweetener of your choice (optional)
- For topping:
- bananas
- strawberries
- pistachio
- coconut flakes
- chopped dark chocolate
- or any other of your favorite fruits, seeds, nuts or superfoods
- Put all the ingredients in a blender (a supa' powerful blender will make all the difference).
- Blend until all the ingredients are perfectly blended and turned into a creamy and thick smoothie.
- Pour your smoothie in your favorite bowl and customize it with your favorite toppings.
- Enjoy ♥
